Alright, this is a long time coming and frankly, I'm appalled at how terrible it's been getting.    I hope this journal entry goes somewhere other than into just my little DA pile because it's a very important discussion.  In fact, I'm wondering why DA hasn't done something about it.  People on DA are stupid

Seriously!  Who in their right mind thinks somebody chewing on razor blades and gushing blood is anything worth showing?  Who in their right mind thinks somebody posing as a half-naked girl or guy is something to be proud of?  If it was done tastefully with a proper backdrop then yes, it is possibly a nice image, but a messy bedroom?

That's not art!  That's filth!

Another thing that pisses me off is when I go searching for stock photography, I'm expecting good, clean photos that I can use.  If I type in eyes or lips, I'm hoping to get images of eyes or lips that I can work with.

What I'm NOT look for is somebody else's photo-manipulation (however good or bad it may be). I am NOT looking for somebody's half-naked picture.   I am NOT looking for somebody sucking someone else's dick just because I said "lips" or some girl's eyes because she's got very pretty eyes in some dumb picture of herself!   What I am NOT looking for is somebody chewing on razor blades and gushing blood from their mouths because I was looking for "lips"! What I am NOT looking for is somebody's failed attempt at playing professional photographer and having a snapshot of some brain-dead bimbo standing around or doing stupid poses with a backdrop that speaks of slobs?

Why has everything on DA turned into either emo-garbage where people think it's great to bleed all over their photos, whether or not it's even real blood, and why the Hell is DA allowing this crap to go on?  Why has everyone decided to believe they're the next best thing to a professional photographer and post pictures of their friends doing some stupid pose.  There backdrop is too messy, the lighting is horrible, their poses and expressions suck, and then they post so many of these poor-excuses for stock photography that they take up one entire DA page so that the person browsing for suitable stock photography has to click through numerous pages just before finding ONE decent picture amidst thousands of trashy ones.

What is WRONG with people?  Why hasn't DA done something about all the naked idiots thinking they've got a body to show off on DA?  Why do people think that when somebody searches stock photography for, say, "hair", that person wants to see a naked girl laying down with her legs spread, showing off some disgusting harry bush?

And then there's the problem with people not putting the "mature content" selection on an image that, although it may not SHOW anything, you can clearly tell the person is naked.  I can't even view pages at work because somebody might mistake a picture of a girl with long hair and the image cropped right at the tops of her breasts as porn!  I don't need my boss thinking I'm looking at porn when I'm actually trying to look for a decent image of "long brown hair"!

Here's what you do... sign OUT of DA then use the website.  I guarantee that every found search you're looking for will come back with hundreds of "must be logged in to see" icons, signifying that it's a naked idiot.

Then, here's another problem I've run into over the course of using stock photography on DA... people think their rules matter to the user.  Some users who are good Samaritans will actually follow through with these rules while others, like me, will just turn away from it.  If I have to ASK to use your image then that's not considered stock!  If I have to pay, you're at the wrong sight and still, most of these people's images suck to begin with.  I'm not the type of dork to say "you can't use my image for this but you can for this..." and I'm not the nerd who declares, "YOU HAVE TO ASK ME BEFORE YOU USE THIS!"  Bullshit.  I'm the uploader who allows you to use my image for anything, even commercial, so long as you let me know, give me credit, and link me to whatever you've done.

I'm surprised at how many dumbshits on this site and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who shares these thoughts!
